Kousonh Phaosoung

Koushonh is a very experienced wood refinisher who joined the Nautical Details crew in 2013. With over 18 years in the marina industry, Koushonh has gained tons of knowledge in the realm of varnish and holds a large skill set in boat maintenance. Originally from Bangkok Thailand, he enjoys being near the sea, especially on boats where he affirms the days go by flying.

Before joining the marina industry Kousonh worked as security personnel, hotel staff, and in livery services. But it is the marina industry where he found his true passion.

His work on toe rails, hand rails, tables, frames, doors and any wooden surface is always of high standards. Delivering consistent results on all his jobs and applying delicate artesian techniques to varnish or stain teak. He welcomes it as sort of art form, "I enjoy what I do on boats. I love my job".

One of the bigger jobs he’s worked on is the Arabesque, a Friendship Sailboat 50' 2015 built by Rockport Marine. Here he prepped and applied varnish coating on several wooden pieces including the toe rails, eye brow, winch panels, cockpit coaming, and trim around the cockpit benches.

What he likes most about Nautical Details is that he feels surrounded by people who care, starting from Tobi and Margarita, to the team on the field. "From the bottom to the top they make you feel like a large family".

When working, Koushonh’s goal is to have customers thrilled as if they just purchased a new boat. He wants them to feel stunned, ecstatic, and getting those reactions are a huge motivation to work his best and to always improve his skills.

In his free time, Koushonh enjoys a good game of volley, hitting a strikes on the bowling aisle, or simply sharing activities with good friends to keep him happy and balanced. He’s a great part of our team and a great reason why Nautical Details has been very successful.
