CERAMIC COATING

As you know, boats are exposed to harsh weather conditions, saltwater, and UV rays, which can cause damage to your boat's exterior and interior. Our team of skilled professionals can help you restore your boat's shine and protect it from the elements, so you can enjoy your time on the water worry-free.

For almost a decade now, Your Nautical Solutions LLC has offered ceramic coating applications for our boating customers. We use different products that are available in the market space and due to our diligence and hunger for deep knowledge, we have collected a vast amount of information about these products, their durability, and different application methods.

Ceramic coatings are one of, if not the best, products to protect and preserve the integrity of your surface – far superior to traditional wax and sealants (especially in the marine and RV market). Through your boat's life-cycle, the gel coat and paint will always be dealing with the elements. Everytime gel coat or paint gets chalky, buffing and waxing are done to return its luster and shine. Following this process, however, is slowly breaking down the layers of gel coat or paint. Continuing down this road will eventually lead to the costly job of re-painting or gel coating.

Professional Marine Ceramic Coating Benefits:

  • - Faded or chalky color restoration

  • - Diamond hard coating for durability

  • - Transforms surface to be hydrophobic for easy maintenance

  • - Cost effective alternative to repainting

  • - Stops polished metal from rusting and tarnishing

  • - Reflects UV rays to provide long term protection from sun damage

  • - Repels stains from bird droppings and pollen

  • - Stops mold by sealing the pours from water retention

  • - Provides a “ Better than New “ finish and increases gloss and shine

  • - Longer lasting protection

  • - Makes maintenance a breeze, far more superior to wax and polymer sealant

When you think of Ceramic Coatings, think of a hard coating or shield that creates a barrier, unlike wax or polishes. Advanced Nano technology creates a superior bond to the underlying surface and some coatings require a base coat application to enforce the surface bonding process. Most marine ceramic coatings are designed to have a shorter initial curing time to be safe if rain sets in after 1-4 hours. But most coatings are fully cured between 24-48 hours. Most Ceramic coating manufacturers have a product line that can be applied to fabrics, metals, glass and vinyl surfaces as well.

Ceramic Coatings Maintenance

One of the most common misinterpretations of a ceramic coating is that they are almost maintenance free, or your boat will not get dirty if it has a ceramic coating. That is simply not the case.

While ceramic coatings are extremely durable, they require ongoing maintenance to ensure that you are getting the full benefits and protection out of your ceramic coating. With that being said, the main benefit of having a ceramic coating is that your ongoing maintenance is much easier and more effective (with less effort) than using a traditional wax or sealant.

Most Ceramic coating manufacturers have guidelines and products that ensure proper maintenance. They developed PH-neutral soaps for regular washdowns as well as maintenance sprays that usually will be applied every 3-4 month to reinforce the existing coating and have a compounding effect to increase protection and luster of the coating.

With all that being said, don't let the start of the boating season catch you unprepared. Contact us today to schedule your boat detailing, coating, and cleaning services. We'll work with you to create a customized plan that fits your schedule and budget.
